Trade at the E District tup sale, held at Ruswarp Auction Mart on 7th October 2022 was encouraging with a top call of £900 and an almost total clearance.
Leading the days trade was the homebred shearling ram, Moorview Dixon, from Shaun Thompson, Moorview Cottage, which sold for £900 to Berry Wheldon, Birch Nab Farm. Following this was the pre-sale show 1st Prize Small Breeders shearling ram from Sally Snaith, Keepers Genius, which also stood Reserve Champion, and 1st in the Conformation class, he sold for £780 to Peter Turnbull.
The days Supreme Champion came from Mark Graham, Hunt House, this was the 1st prize Large Breeders shearling ram, Hunt House Stuart 3rd, which sold for £580 to Andrew Hollings, Liberty Hall Farm, Goathland.
Sale averages- Aged rams 12 forward 11 sold, £201.81 (-£28.27 from 2021)
Shearlings- 22 forward, 18 sold £389.88 (+£95.55 from 2021)
Tup lamb- 1 forward and sold for £100.
