The Brogden family claimed top honours at the In Lamb sale of individual females at Kirkby Stephen last week.  The championship was awarded to the 1st Prize Aged Ewe from S&P Brogden, Hillandale. This ewe, sired by Bull & Cave Jackpot, and scanned twins, was sold to T Bousfield, Brough, for £850.

Their son, Thomas, followed with his gimmer hogg which was placed 1st in the pre-sale show, and Reserve Champion.  Sired by the Stevie Clarkson tup, Swalehead Powerhouse, she sold for £1000 to S Taylor, Ellerbeck Cottage.

Top price in the sale went to DJ Coates, Tetheran for his 2nd Prize Gimmer Hogg which sold for £1800 to GS Coates, 7 Brough Meadows.  This much admired hogg was by the homebred Butt Rigg Gary 1.  Also at this price, D Humble, Cowshill, sold his 2022 born ewe, scanned twins to Bents Gorgeous, to J Tully, Burncroft Farm.

Following this was a 2021 born ewe from MC&AE Staley, Poppin Cottage, placed 3rd in the show and scanned for three, she sold for £1400 to S Tully, Barnard Castle.
