South of Ireland Sale – 16th September 2022

Claiming the Male Championship at the South of Ireland Sale held on Friday 16th September at Ballybofey & Stranolar Livestock Market, was Sean Byrne, Cashel Hill, Glencolmcille, County Donegal with his homebred shearling ram, Cashel Hill Jack, which went on to sell for the days leading price of 1750 Euros to Michael McNulty, Lough Eske, County Donegal.
Reserve Male Champion went to Brian Carter, Fahan Hill, with his 2nd prize shearling ram, which sold for 1100 Euros to John Joyce, Clonbur, Co Galway.
Female Champion honours went to Aaron Boyle and Carol Gillespie, Garvan with their homebred gimmer shearling, which was full sister to last years champion, Garvan Tiny Dancer. She sold for 1000 Euros to Peter McHale.
Reserve Champion was the 1st prize gimmer lamb from Jason Murphy, Glan Valley, which sold as part of a pen of 10, selling for 185 Euros each.
