NSA Sheep Northern Ireland 2023
04 : 07 : 23
The much awaited Northern Irish Sheep event took place on 4th July at the Tynan Estate, Armagh, with the Association stand travelling over to demonstrate why all hill farmers in Northern Ireland should be using a Swaledale. Visitors viewed the strong maternal qualities of the breed, along with their calmness and good conformation. Four pens of sheep were provided by:
- Martin Conway – Two aged ewes and two shearling gimmers;
- John Blaney – Two 2-shear rams;
- Richard Patrick – Aged ewe with twin mule lambs.
The competition, run along the same lines as that at the North Sheep event back in June, was won by Patrick Gormley of Claudy.
Many thanks to members for helping with the stand on the day.
