NSA Sheep Event 2022

A warm return to the NSA Sheep Event on 27th July held at The Three Counties Showground, Malvern, saw the Swaledale breed stand, and stock welcomed by breeders from the South of England, in particular, Devon, Cornwall, and further North from Derbyshire. Two pens of sheep were on display, three Swaledale Gimmer Shearlings and a Swaledale ewe with twin Swaledale lambs, which were noted as being great examples of the breed, for both character and conformation. There were many other examples of Swaledale genetics on various stands, in particular, ewes standing with North of England Mule lambs. Winner of the ‘Guess the combined weight of the ewe and twin lambs’ on the stand was Kate Beavan from South Wales. The correct answer was 138kg.
