The Spring Shows kicked off yesterday at Mungrisdale, with a good number of sheep forward, and lots of spectators.  The day’s Supreme and Local Champion came from the Lightfoot family, Gillside Farm, Glenridding, with their homebred shearling ram, which they retained a share in and sold at Kirkby Stephen in October 2023 for £105,000.  The Cockbain family from nearby Rakefoot Farm, Keswick, stood Reserve Overall and Reserve Local, again with a homebred sheep, this time a gimmer shearling
