The 103rd A District Tup sale went extremely well, given the current Covid restrictions and due to these restrictions, there was no show this year.

The shearling average was up by £176 on last year, with a top price of £17,000 for  ‘Roachburn Prince’ from Messrs L Smith & Co, Roachburn, selling to TW Cowperthwaite, Tennant Gill.

• Other leading prices were ‘West Briscoe Rockafella’ from F & MP Allinson sold for £14,000 sold to MR & LE Rukin, JR Rukin, Park Lodge and J Allison & Sons, Seal Houses.
• ‘Priorsdale Eric Prydz’ from Weardale Estates sold for £10,000 to R Hutchinson & Sons, Valley Farm & AD & P Coates, Aygill, with Weardale Estates retaining a 3rd share.
• ‘Lummas Sizzler’ from D & M Brown sold for £9500 to AM Walton, Bowlees & MW Dent, Wythes Hill.
• DC&KL Hutchinson sold lot 17 for £7000 to D Short.

Tup lamb averages were up by £199, with a top price of £1600 from R Marwood & Sons, followed by another at £1400. These were sold to F & MP Allinson, West Briscoe and JL Archer, White Hill Farm, respectively.

Burncroft Farm sold their first lamb into the ring for £1200 to R Tiplady, Red House Farm.

 Aged ram top price was £450.
